These ladies are being represented as people who need help. it seems to be this way because there is an employee of a shop is with them and they have their trollies to help them stand up. The title of the article is 'Two thirds of older people feel stereotyped, and more than half feel they are ignored.' This is because of the way that the media influences us to think about older people. We mainly stereotype old people as racist and out of our time. They seem to be racist because they are older and were brought up in a different time to us, when racism was probably more prominent and normal, so to speak, because there weren't the laws in place that are today. They also seem to not like teenagers, I have personally been tutted at for just walking down the road past an elderly person, it is as the usual, the minority of the group are the ones portrayed and the majority of the group is represented poorly because of this. There isn't just a bad representation of elderly people though, they are thought of as sweat and innocent, but you don't see this representation as much as you do the negative representations.
This is from the Inbetweeners, it represents young people in a negative way because of all the things that they do, most of them are quite inappropriate and things that you really wouldn't normally see happening. In this scene Jay leans out of the window and shouts "Bus W****ers" to a load of people at the bus stop. This isn't something that you would see happening, and you wouldn't expect them to happen.
